If you’ve managed to catch a glimpse of the news over the last few weeks you’ll be aware of the growing unrest in Istanbul right now and the daily protests that are on the verge of becoming full scale riots. Shit’s kicking off and we really hope that it doesn’t escalate into what’s happening in Syria at the moment because there’s a lot of really bad shit going on over there that nobody wants.
The news networks have been covering the protests in Istanbul pretty well but none of them have had the smart idea that this dude had of sending a remote controlled helicopter above Taksim Square to capture some awesome (not sure if awesome is the right word to use here) aerial footage of the crowds and the police.
The helicopter that filmed the video below ended up getting blasted out of the sky by the police, but while it was up and filming it managed to capture some really good footage of the area including some shots of the police water cannons blasting the protester’s main campsite.
Watching this video makes me feel like I’m playing Command and Conquer, but with real people, maybe this is a look into the future of C&C graphics. Sweet.
